Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27) 

a) Beyond all boundary hedges, fences, walls and gates bounding the course. Where the out of bounds is defined by a hedge or gate, the boundary line is considered to be the inside line of the hedge trunks at ground level or the nearest inside points at ground level of any gate.

b) On or over the Clubhouse surrounds and Practice Putting Green defined by white posts and white lines.

c) Beyond the lines of white posts to the left of the 2nd hole.

2. WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26-1)

a) The ditch to the left of the 1st and 2nd holes identified by red posts is a Lateral Water Hazard.

b) The pond on the right of the 18th hole identified by yellow posts is a Water Hazard.

 

3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24-2)

 All artificially surfaced roads and paths including the stoned area close to the Greenkeepers’ shed to the right of the 4th green are Immovable Obstructions.

4. INTEGRAL PARTS OF THE COURSE 

a) The sleeper retaining the crab apple tree on the left of the 18th hole.

b) All roads and paths not defined in Local Rule 3. The ball must be played as it lies or relief taken under penalty. Rule 28 (ball unplayable) applies.

5. STONES IN BUNKERS 

Stones in bunkers are Movable Obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies.

6. GROUND UNDER REPAIR (Rule 25-1)

All areas of the course encircled by white lines and/or displaying Ground Under Repair signs

7. PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES 

Identified by stakes, wire or wire netting. If such a tree, gorse or area interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his intended swing the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2 (Immovable Obstructions). The ball may be cleaned when lifted.

8. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS

All fixed sprinkler heads are Immovable Obstructions and relief from them may be obtained under Rule 24-2.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES: 

Match Play: Loss of Hole. Stroke Play: Two Strokes.

 

150 YARD MARKER POSTS: 

Yardages are measured from the fairway between the posts to the centre of the green.
