38 ladies played in the Medal and Marjorie Whitehead Memorial trophy competition on Tuesday 26th August. Division 1 was won by Ann McDonough, nett 72, with five pars and one birdie. Gail Witcomb came second, nett 74, followed by Carole Whiles, nett 76. Division 2 had some excellent scores, four ladies having a nett score below their handicap. This division was won by Margaret McNeill, nett 69. Margaret had seven pars and one birdie. Vanda McKenzie was in second place, nett 71, Natalie Boyle third, nett 72. Division 3 was won by Amanda Allen, nett 69, Stephanie Turner, nett 70 came second. Amanda Allen was the Marjorie Whitehead memorial winner on countback.
Nine ladies played in the 9 hole green course Stableford competition, Gill Roberts was in first place with a super score of 23 points.
Thursday 28th August 14 ladies played in the Freda Rhodes trophy competition, which is an over 65’s 13 hole Stableford competition from the green tees. Alison Kitson scored an outstanding 36 points, with a round including four pars. Ann McDonough came second, 30 points, closely followed by Lesley Southwell with 29 points. Seven ladies in the field scored over 26 points – well done everyone!
Thursday 28th August the annual Over 75’s Trophy was held. David McFadden won with 5 pars beating Derek Lunn by 1 point:

On Saturday 30th August the men’s section held a Stableford. Dan Hartley won division 1 with 2 birdies and 14 pars beating R Allan Cooper by 1 point. Alan North won division 2 with 3 birdies and 9 pars beating Ian Davison by 3 points. Mark Homer won division 3 with 1 birdie and 7 pars beating Jeff Worrall in a card play off.
On Sunday 31st August a mixed friendly was held at Pannal with our friends from Headingley GC. The match was drawn.
