It was a busy week at Pannal this week.
Tuesday 5th of May was a medal and qualifier for the Mary Lee knockout competition. Dawn Fabbroni won division 1 with a nett 67 and Susie Stuart-brown came in second with a nett 72. Joanne McCormack won division 2, Susan Asquith was in second place and Alison Matthews won division 3 with Rebecca Ellacott in second place. Twelve ladies played in the 9-hole Stableford competition and this was won by Anne Parkinson beating Sandra Dewey in a card play-off.
On Wednesday we had our annual match against Battleback. Battleback uses golf to enhance the recovery of wounded, injured and sick service personnel. It is a truly inspiring day. Battleback once more came out victorious in the golf!
On Thursday we hosted the Maggie’s charity golf day. Maggie’s is a charity that provide expert care and support for people and families affected by cancer. Before the meal we were treated to a talk and video from two of their supporters Green 2 Blue. They are two local guys in their 60s who rowed 3000 miles across the Atlantic raising considerable funds for Maggie’s.
Saturday was the playing of the Harewood Cup. Division one was won by Michael Crack with a gross 75; division two was won by Brian Goddard with a gross 80, while division three was won by Jack Chalmers with a gross 90.
