Tuesday 12th August was the Ladies Exchange Day, 43 ladies travelled to Brancepeth Castle Golf Club for a wonderful day of golf followed by a meal. The competition was an AMAM, with a ‘nearest the pin’ on the 15th Par 3. The 15th was a tough uphill hole with lots of debate about what club to take to reach the green, needless to say most ladies found themselves at the bottom of a steep incline pitching up for their second shot! Only 2 ladies managed to hit the green all day, Rebecca Booth and Sally Jenkins. The AMAM was tightly contested the result as follows: 1st place: Pam Dodds, Lynn Sheldrake, Susie Stuart-Brown and Helen Mountford, 82 points. 2nd place: Sandra Dewey, Jo Walker, Clare Davies and Sandra Taylor, 80 points. 3rd place: Gail Witcomb, Lynne Roberts, Sophie Jacob and Hilary Ingram, 79 points.
On Sunday 17th August 12 ladies played in their Annual 36 hole Challenge Bowl Medal competition, with trophies for best gross and also best nett score. Clare Davies was the winner of best nett, having a superb first round, nett 68, followed by a second round of nett 72 (nett total 140). Lady Captain Vicky Eyre was second place in both best gross and best nett. Following the golf Vicky presented the trophies to Julie and Clare, commenting it was lovely to present the trophy to Clare who donated them when she was lady captain two years ago.
