Pannal Juniors visited Sandmoor GC for a well contested friendly fixture in blustery conditions. The Pannal team led by captain Will Roeloffs consisted of Zach Marsh, Will Robinson, Jake Dodson, Rory Mountain, and debutant Zander Dall, fought out a well deserved draw in a match played in great spirits.
On Sunday 13th April the final of the Winter League was played between John Heaps & Tim Rhodes and David Whan & Alan Morris. The two pairs had previously played out a draw in the league section. The match was closely contested with David & Alan winning on the 18th green. Congratulations to everyone who entered and persevered throughout the winter and to David & Alan for successfully retaining the trophy.
38 ladies played in the 18 hole Stableford competition on Tuesday 15th April. There were some excellent scores in all divisions and many ladies were checking their England Golf App the following day to see what their handicap index reduction was! Division 1 was won by Clare Davies, 41 points, including 6 pars. Followed by Ann McDonough with 40 points and Janet Jones 37 points. Jane Bradburn topped Division 2 with 37 points, followed by Lorraine Webster, 36 points and Mary Duffield, 34 points. Natalie Boyle, top scorer of the day, won Division 3 with 43 points, Lydia Scott taking second place, 41 points, Sandra Dewey third, 39 points.
Two ladies played in the 9 hole Stableford competition, both ladies had fantastic scores, Bernie Ruffel scored 23 points, Sally Honeysett 21 points, both ladies are settling well in competition golf and seeing their handicap index coming down.
A Stableford was held on Saturday 19th April in cold and windy conditions. Allan Cooper won Division 1 with 3 birdies and 7 pars beating Simon Rothwell by 1 point. David Whan won Division 2 with 2 birdies and 4 pars beating Mike Flatley in a card playoff. Reuben Bhogal continued his recent good form winning Division 3 with 2 birdies and 5 pars beating James Gardiner by 2 points. There were 21 two’s recorded.
