Last week was a busy week at Pannal Golf Club.
The Millennium trophy was played on the Saturday. The competition consisted of 21 teams of four drawn from the overall entries. Scoring was for two to score on each hole with all to score on the 18th. It was a shotgun start and the first opportunity of the year to play the course from the yellow as opposed to the winter tees. The winning fourball consisted of Lisa O’Reilly, Kjeld Rasmussen, Richard Hanson and Gordon Macfarlane. The amassed an incredible 84 points helped in some part by Gordon’s eagle at the second.
Immediately following the Millennium trophy the AGM was held with Last year’s captains Andrew Asquith and Vicky Eyre handing over to the new incumbents of Gary Macnair and Sue White. Our financial director of the last 6 years , Bob Maxwell, stepped down from the board and handed over to Dan Hartley.
On the Sunday was the captains drive in with the men’s, ladies and junior captains driving off from the first tee. A sweepstake was held in advance as to where the men’s and ladies captains drive would finish. The two winners graciously donated their winnings to this year’s captain’s charity,
